Chapter Six

As Dane tooled up the coastal road in his jeep, the windows open to allow in the sea air, he felt almost euphoric. It wasn’t because he’d finished his formal PT and it wasn’t because he would soon be cleared for active duty. Those hallmarks made him damn happy, of course they did. But his emotions had more to do with the man sitting next to him.

With his head resting against the back of his seat, Will looked relaxed, almost sleepy. Dane knew better. There was a war going on inside the man. While part of him was ensconced in the peace and tranquility that came from being on vacation, another part of him was on edge from lack of release. Since that night in Dane’s jeep after the nightclub confrontation, Will had not gotten off. Not once. Dane was sure because Will had assured him of it and Will was an honest man, an honest sub.

Now Will couldn’t find release because he was under Dane’s supervision and locked into a metal chastity device. Once Dane had a timeline for this little getaway, he had jumped online to order some toys. All the ones he owned were back in the small house he had bought a couple of years ago. He never brought those along for his deployments. Playing was the last thing he expected to do, and even if he thought he might find a willing partner, he couldn’t take the chance of his teammates finding them. Forget being in the closet as a gay man. He shoved his proclivities for being a dominant and a sadist even farther back in the depths of things never to be taken out, except with special company.

Will was special, no doubt about it. The toys Dane ordered were packed up in a second duffel bag. When the weekend was over, he’d leave them with Will if he wanted them. Even as Dane thought it, however, his gut clenched at the idea of someone else using them on who had now become “his boy” in his mind. It was stupid to think like that and to feel that way. This infatuation with Will would run its course over the next few days and then they’d go their separate ways. Even if a long-term relationship were feasible, he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t be in an open relationship with another man. Maybe when he got out of the Teams, he’d come out of the closet, too. Maybe.

To distract himself from his melancholy thoughts, he glanced at Will. “How’re you doing?”

Will squirmed a bit before answering. “I don’t like this thing,” he said, shooting Dane a petulant look.

Dane grinned. “You’re not supposed to like it. What matters is that I like the idea of your being confined.”

“I don’t know why you felt the need to lock me up,” Will huffed. “I was perfectly capable of obeying your ‘no coming’ rule on my own.”

“I know you were, but this is more of a turn-on for me.
